oh my, the magic of mike

tuesday night, i went to see magic mike with a great group of girls.
we were loud. probably the loudest in the whole theater.
and with good reason, friends.

i will say this much, i don't know if i am naive or what, but it was a little more raunchy than i was expecting. with that being said, it was so much fun.

there is a story line outside of the strip club. and it was actually really funny. (see the last picture if you don't believe me.)

for your viewing pleasure.

oh my...

channing tatum. i have to admit i had a bad taste in my mouth after seeing the horrible non-love story the vow earlier this year. but channing completely redeemed himself. just look at him. he's so pretty. for the most part, he was hilarious in this movie. i'm a little tired of him playing the wounded guy - which he is in this movie too, but only towards the end. the rest of it he's super funny. also super fun to look at.

and matthew mcconaughey finally owned up to 100% without a doubt being the creepy old guy. i didn't hear hardly any of the dialog in this scene because i was laughing so hard at the awesome workout outfit he has on. added bonus, he says "alright alright alright" in this movie too. which i think just may be one of his requirements of every single role he has ever played. ok so maybe it was just this & dazed & confused. but still. so funny.

bottom line - if you have like 2 hours to kill & $10 to spare, it will be worth it. if not, wait until video. but some of this, i'm glad i saw on the big screen! haha

it's a sad sad day

RIP - Poochie Boy

I would say, you will be missed. But you are already missed. We miss you. Mazy misses you desperately. She sits all pitiful on the porch just waiting for you to come home. We realized today, you won't be coming home. And we are sad.

I feel like I owe you an apology. You probably remember that I was not exactly thrilled when you showed up at our house. And even less thrilled when we had puppies to get rid of because you became Mazy's manfriend. We know based on the way you acted you were abused at your prior home. We could have called the pound to come pick you since you were a stray. But we didn't. You became a part of our family. Over the past 9 years, you warmed up to us. Letting us pet you & love on you & feed you treats. But you never ever set foot in our house. You were too scared to do that. You were always the most excited one to see us when we got home. We love you & miss you already. We are minus a minion & sad.

random & awesome

i'm so ready for the lovely mid-week holiday break in my work week. i think a 5 day work week is for the birds. we don't have any plans for the 4th, other than having no plans. which is fantastic. my parents had their annual 4th of july cookout on saturday & it was a blast. you know, other than it being as hot as a blast furnace all day long. not really sure if we will just lay low in the ac all day tomorrow, or if we will venture out at some point. either way, it will be better than working.

ready for some totally random awesomeness? well if you are, you came to the right place.

at our local grocery store, the following display can be found by the freezer section & check-outs
i've been to the store 3 times in the past 4 days. each time i see this, i jump. however, according to facebook, i am not alone. i may have definitely cursed the first time. apparently, batman wants you to buy some kind of crap they are peddling.

my grandma gave us her fridge from her basement. she declared she no longer had a need for it. it's a tight fit. and the heaviest thing I have ever had to move. ever. my dad, uncle, & jarrett agree.

my latest iPhone game obsession is flow. seriously addicting & fun. if you like puzzles, you will like this.

lastly, holy heat wave batman! (see what i did there, 2 batmans in 1 post)

i get it, it's july. it is going to be hot. it happens every single year. hot in the summer, cold in the winter. i understand the climate here in central illinois. however, i don't care for 10 consecutive days of 100+ degrees. and no rain...but that is a different post, friends.

while driving home the other day, rachel says to me "mama, i am sweaty right here". i laughed so hard. then of course, had her repeat herself & the actions - so i could take a picture of her rubbing her armpit where she was sweaty. i also sent it to my dad who replied with "so is grandpa, rachey" hahaha! honestly, who isn't sweaty right there in central illinois? hot hot hot.

have a wonderful & safe 4th of july!
