Playing in Rain - check

monday it rained.
no different than, saturday, sunday, or today really.

it's getting pretty old.

if you don't agree, you should talk to my farmer. he's coming unglued.

the rain, however, did play into our hand pretty nicely for the summer bucket list. olivia was all keyed up. she said, "if we play today, then we can mark it off the list."

as you can see from the large puddle at the driveway/patio and the river of the walk-way between the two, it rained super super hard. a complete downpour. and i let my kids play in the worst part. oh well.

Our Summer Bucket List

we made a summer bucket list. the girls came up with some excellent ideas.

sparklers - very fun. very hot. a little dangerous.

rachel looks scared already, doesn't she?

disclaimer: Jarrett & I were both there. I told the girls to just drop the sparklers on the patio if they got too scared. rachel held one long enough for me to snap 2 pictures. olivia loved it.

rachey, being my wimp, spent a good deal of the sparkler time, looking like this.

then she looked like this when she actually held one.

and again after the sun went down.

olivia LOVED it.

i had to tell her to stop moving around with it so much. she was making me nervous.

not on the bucket list, but maybe more fun than the sparklers were the Pop-Its.

look out summer 2013, we are going to enjoy you...

schooooooool's out for summah

Tuesday was the last full day of school. Olivia was ECSTATIC!!!

Yesterday was report card day. So she has officially been promoted from 3rd grade to 4th grade. She did great too. All A's & B's. Math was a huge improvement for her from 2nd to 3rd grade. She is just so-so at controlling unnecessary talking -- I wonder who she gets that from...

Seriously though, I couldn't be more proud of Olivia.

And CLEARLY, the last day of school is way more fun than the first day of school.

may days

oooooh May Days, what fun you provide.

the girls had a blast! so did i.

jar & liv rode the himalaya. please enjoy the photographic proof - clockwise.

rache surprised us all by wanting to ride rides this year.

olivia loved most of the rides. the big slide was a huge it. we met up with those crazy brownies too.

all the kids on the worm ride - minus cassie, she was at a party.

of course, face painting fun for everyone.

olivia was soooo excited to get to see the band play. most of the rest of their gigs have been in bars, so this is only the 2nd official performance she has attended.

they recently changed their name from the chase nipples to on the hunt. olivia made a poster for them. she did it early in the morning before i was even awake.

here she is with her grandpa, my dad. i love this picture!

and the band played!!! they sounded awesome!

oh may days, thank you. we had fun!

Rachel Graduates From Pre-School

Thursday night was my little Rachel Claire's pre-school graduation. My goodness, time flies. This little baby girl is 5 years old & ready for kindergarten in the fall.

Rachel,
I am so proud of you. You really have come a long way. When you started at "friends" you were just a baby. Then you grew into a shy little meek toddler. You were the most quiet of everyone in your room. So sweet so timid.

When you were moved to the "pre-school aged room", I had a hard time with that. I still saw you as a toddler. But these 2 years in your pre-school have done you so much good.

You are no longer the shy little girl. You are outgoing. You are hilarious. You are loud. You are a very popular girl, as far as I can tell.

Congratulations, my sweet Rachey! We are so proud of you!

**************************

The program itself was adorable! They did songs. They came walking in to "The Ants Come Marching In". They wore little graduation caps. I won't force you all to look at the 50 pictures I took, just some of my favorites.

I may have died a little with these hats!

No surprise here, her boyfriend Owen (in the brown button-down) quickly found his spot right next to Rachel.

Going on a bear hunt - fluffy little tails here people.

and the Graduating Class of 2013!

Such a proud girl!

why were none of us looking at my camera?! Gotta get ahold of those grandmas' cameras.
