Weigh In Wednesday

I feel like after the title it should have music - DUN DUN DUN...

Anywho...I am on a serious mission. I have a list of things I want to do before I am 30. And get down to my pre-Rachel weight is #1 on the list. It's going to be quite a task. But I figured if I lose 5 pounds a month for the next year - I will be right on the mark. I know right, 60 pounds! YOWZA!!! But I can do it. I have a habit of setting unrealistic goals that are never realized. If I don't look at the whole number, and just focus on the 5 a month - it makes me feel better. So that is what I will be doing.

Since my birthday on September 27th, I have lost 13 pounds. So, technically, I am ahead of schedule. Not by much, but every little bit will help.

I have gotten up & worked out in the morning. My Mama got me an elliptical for my B-Day so I have been putting it to good use. Weight Watchers works, clearly - that is what I did before I got pregnant with Rachel. In 2006, I was at my lowest adult weight at 135. Which according to my height is still at the high end of my range. (I think I just need to be a little taller, but that ain't gonna happen.) I will be happy with 140 or 135 - whatever I think is comfortable & a good fit for my body type. I don't think these child bearing hips will ever been size 2. I guess the good ol' Chub Club is coming out with a new program after Thanksgiving. I am going to join again then.

I will post the weight lost & maybe, just maybe will post my actual weight - but I think that will only happen as I hit milestone losses - but you cannot hold me to it.

Tooth Fairy Time

The Tooth Fairy made her first ever visit to the Totten house last night. Miss Olivia was quite excited & proud of her newly lost tooth. Here she is blurry picture & all!

nothing comes close to the girl in curls

Since Olivia was Hermione for Halloween & sported curly locks, she has asked to have her hair curled every morning before school. She says she "likes her hair to look fluffy". I can't say I blame her. It is so cute. I am amazed that she does well with the hot rollers. She has sat with them in her hair for 10 to 15 minutes each morning this week. No complaints. I told her we can keep this up as long as she wants to.

In Other Olivia News:
Thursday night I had my Parent/Teacher Conference with Mrs. Helm.

I couldn't be more thrilled with how well Olivia is doing in school!!! According to Mrs. Helm, Olivia has the best penmanship in the class. She excels at reading, so she has qualified & will be entered into the accelerated reading program. She is fluent in all things 1st Grade!!!

Olivia, I hope you realize how incredibly proud you have made us!!!

{sisters}

These 2 girls have stolen my heart so completely.

They are playing more & more together.
They talk & have actual conversations.
They love to play dress-up together.
The love to dance together.
They love to laugh together.
They love to sing together.
They love to hang out on the top bunk to watch movies together.

I'm so happy they have each other. I'm so happy they are entering the stage of "friends". I'm so happy they each have a sister, it's the best thing a girl can have.

sometimes, it ain't so bad

Amidst the madness & chaos of our everyday busy life, we manage to squeeze in some moments of pure happiness & calm. These are the times that I need to think about when we are rushing around trying to get ourselves ready in the morning. Or when I am stressed about having to referee the girls all by myself on a very crazy Saturday.

After all, who doesn't love coloring?!

{my feet are absolutely filthy in these pictures. olivia is in her undershirt & panties. rachel is wearing just a diaper. there is a mountain of a mess behind my rocking chair. there are birthday gift bags from over a week ago still in my living room. i know all of these things, but i don't care. i still love these pictures. we were having fun. we were sharing. we were all getting along. we were quiet. there were no fights or arguments. i loved this moment}

Trick - or - Treat

You would think these candy-loving kids didn't enjoy getting dressed up for Halloween at all...
The evening started off kind of, well GRUMPY.

My Hermione Granger perked up...

But my little Gnome girl wasn't as thrilled. At least, not thrilled to have her picture taken.

But we did, in fact, have a very happy Halloween!
